Tire diameter on modern vehicles is insane. I remember back in 2010 when the new Taurus came out. I saw on parked next to an 80s 2wd F-150, and the tires on the Taurus were taller than the tires on the truck. And the wheels size alone was at least 5 inches larger.

My wife’s Fit has stock 16" wheels. 185/55/16 tires.

I think next time we have to buy summer tires I’m going to get some 205/50/16s for a bit more meat.
